Would you like something different to a traditional Baby Shower? Or maybe something additional as well? Something that will bond you deeper with your girlfriends and feel more satisfying and nourishing to your heart and soul?
There are several ways of celebrating an impending birth and the change in status of the mother-to-be. One option is where attendees bring something for a lunch or morning/afternoon tea and we have an ‘Acknowledgment Ceremony’ for the Mother-To-Be as well. Each woman lights a tea-light candle and says what she loves about the Mother-To-Be and what she wishes for her in her impending journey into motherhood. Another option is that the attendees could each paint something on the Mother-to be’s belly with body paint to signify what they wish for her and her baby.
This ceremony was called a ‘Blessing Way’ by the native American Indian women – blessing the way for a new soul to enter the earth. A beautiful, heart-warming ritual for the Mum-to-be to remember for ever…. usually about 2 hours depending on numbers.
